Monetizing blog content

by admin on December 14, 2008

Mack over on The Walled Garden had a very interesting post today around the subject of monetizing blog content. Despite some critics, we here at Alensa also believe that content creators should be compensated for their work and it’s only a matter of determining what is the most appropriate method that doesn’t compromise the objectivity of the editor.

Our goal with HealthBlogs is to increase the adoption rate of medical professionals in blogging for which we find it imperative to offer monetization solutions as an option. In our case we allow the content creators to define certain pots as premium content and charge a small fee for access to those posts via a mobile phone SMS payment system.

Like Mack, we feel that monetizing blogs and other social media is both inevitable and will lead to more professional quality content being produced. Share your opinion about monetizing blogs and other social media with us by leaving a comment.
